PRESS RELEASE February 1, 2007 Med-Equip, a home medical equipment
business headquartered in Hartley, Iowa will be vacating its location next to Exact
Eyecare at 714 So. Grand Ave, Suite B in Spencer, Iowa. The move is the latest step in
Med-Equip’s plans to consolidate its staff and resources and to strengthen its
ability to provide for its customers. The
product in the Spencer store will continue to be available to customers at Med-Equip’s
two main locations in Hartley and Spirit Lake, Iowa.
The staff of Med-Equip will continue to deliver and provide product to
customers not just in Spencer, but to all of Northwest Iowa and parts of Southwest
Minnesota and Southeast South Dakota. In June of 2005 Med-Equip sold the
respiratory and hospital bed portion of their business to Lincare, a national company
whose main focus is respiratory products and equipment.
This sale allowed Med-Equip to dedicate its major business focus on mobility
products such as scooters, manual and power wheelchairs, lift chairs, vehicle and stair
lifts. Around the same timeframe Med-Equip
moved its business operations in Hartley from their downtown location to a much larger
facility located on Highway 18. By narrowing their focus
and consolidating its staff and resources into their two largest facilities, Med-Equip
expects to improve cost effectiveness, and strengthen its ability to provide quality
service to its customers. Besides mobility
products, Med-Equip and Med-Equip Pharmacies, located in Hartley, Spirit Lake and Orange
City, are concentrating their efforts on becoming the specialty provider of pain management, hormone replacement and home infusion products. To facilitate the move, the Spencer
store will be having some special sales during the month of February. The move is expected to be completed by March 1. The Grand Avenue location will be available for
rent after March 1. Interested persons

“re-introduce” ourselves – MED-EQUIP.
We are making some exciting changes! Med-Equip
will be dedicating our primary business to mobility—scooters, manual and power
wheelchairs, lift chairs, vehicle and stair lifts, plus many other items to assist you
with daily living needs. We will also feature mastectomy, diabetic and ostomy products. We have the
benefit of many years of experience working with mobility products and can now focus on
“Equipping You to Live Better!” Our
helpful sales and technical staff will continue to be here to serve you and your needs. To better
provide you with continuous care for your respiratory needs, we have sold the respiratory
division to Lincare. Lincare is a national
company whose main focus is respiratory. We
are confident that Lincare will continue to provide you with efficient, quality care. Our other exciting news includes a move from our main location in downtown Hartley to a larger facility along Highway 18 to allow more room for expansion. Our goal is to become the source for all mobility related equipment for you. This includes everything from canes, crutches and walkers, to wheelchairs, scooters, powerchairs, vehicle lifts stair lifts and more. We thank you for
